Some not-so-pleasant news for Apple product enthusiasts. Recently, Apple officially raised prices for many of its flagship products globally.
The reason is that production costs for memory chips and internal storage have skyrocketed due to the AI boom in the tech world. With component stocks becoming more competitive and expensive, Apple has finally decided to pass these costs on to their product selling prices.
To avoid confusion, here is the list of Apple product lines that have officially increased in price.
iPad Lineup
All iPad models, from the most basic to the most expensive version, have seen price increases of around 100 to 200 US dollars.
- Standard iPad: Increased from around $349 to $449.
- iPad mini: Increased from around $499 to $599.
- iPad Air: The cheapest version increased from $599 to $749.
- iPad Pro: The highest-tier model jumped from $999 to $1,199.
MacBook and Mac Desktop Lineup
Apple's computers and laptops have also felt the impact quite noticeably on the wallet. The increases vary, with some monster-spec desktops going up by thousands of dollars.
- MacBook Neo: Apple's newest affordable laptop increased from $599 to $699.
- MacBook Air: The beloved laptop increased by about $200, from $1,099 to $1,299.
- MacBook Pro: The standard version of the laptop for professionals jumped from $1,699 to $1,999.
- iMac and Mac mini: The iMac version increased to $1,499, while the Mac mini with M4 Pro chip also rose to $1,599.
- Mac Studio: This is the most extreme. The M4 Max version increased to $2,499, while the M3 Ultra version skyrocketed from $3,999 to $5,299.
Accessories and Other Devices
Not just the main gadgets, but several smart home devices and their premium headsets also saw increases.
- HomePod mini: Increased from $99 to $129.
- HomePod: The larger smart speaker increased from $299 to $349.
- Apple TV: This streaming device changed from $129 to $199.
- Apple Vision Pro: Their advanced spatial headset increased from $3,499 to $3,699.
Good News: As of now, the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lines are still safe from price increases. So if your near-future plan is to buy a new phone or audio device, you can still breathe easy.
