vivo X500 Pro Max Official, A Serious New Flagship for Cameras

Vivo X500 Pro Max

vivo officially introduced the vivo X500 Pro Max in China on September 21, 2026. This model serves as the highest-end variant in the X500 family and brings a very clear focus: flagship-class cameras, more serious video capabilities, and the latest hardware to support its performance.

Not just a standard X500 version with a larger screen, the X500 Pro Max gets several custom hardware additions, including a 200 MP telephoto camera, a new-generation MediaTek chipset, and support for high frame rate 4K video recording.

The Camera as the Main Weapon

The camera sector is the most interesting part of the vivo X500 Pro Max.

The main camera uses a 1/1.28-inch 50 MP Sony Lytia L910 sensor. This sensor utilizes LOFIC technology to enhance dynamic range. vivo claims the camera is capable of achieving a dynamic range of up to 17 EV, allowing details in both bright and dark areas to be preserved even in difficult lighting conditions.

Alongside the main camera, there is a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. This camera features a focal length of around 85 mm and optical stabilization designed to assist with zoom and portrait photography. vivo also provides teleconverter support of up to 400 mm for users who want to capture subjects from a distance.

Meanwhile, the ultrawide camera uses a 50 MP sensor, and the front-facing camera also boasts a 50 MP resolution with autofocus.

Video Up to 4K 240fps

Another major upgrade is found in the video department.

The vivo X500 Pro Max is capable of recording 4K slow motion up to 240 fps. There is also support for 10-bit Log recording for users who want more flexibility in color grading after the shooting process.

Capabilities like these make the vivo X500 Pro Max not only aimed at photography enthusiasts, but also creators who are quite serious about using a smartphone for video production.

Dimensity 9600 Pro with 2nm Fabrication

For performance, vivo utilizes the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro.

This chipset is manufactured using a 2nm fabrication process and is one of the key components enabling high-end camera and video features on the X500 Pro Max, including 4K 240fps recording.

Memory options are also quite generous, starting from 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage up to a variant with 1 TB of storage.

For daily use such as multitasking, gaming, photo editing, and high-resolution video editing, the specifications clearly sit in the flagship tier.

Large 6.85-inch 2K Display

True to the "Pro Max" name, its size is quite substantial.

The X500 Pro Max features a 6.85-inch display with a 2K resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a peak brightness claimed to reach 4,400 nits.

The fingerprint sensor utilizes ultrasonic fingerprint scanner technology, embedded beneath the screen.

The body has a thickness of approximately 8.12 mm and weighs 229 grams. vivo has also equipped it with IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance.

7,800 mAh Battery

Despite packing quite substantial hardware, the battery capacity is far from small.

vivo has fitted a 7,800 mAh BlueVolt battery with support for 90W FlashCharge wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

A capacity this large is quite impressive considering flagship smartphones usually have to balance battery size with body thickness and various camera hardware.

For the operating system, the X500 Pro Max runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 for the Chinese version.

vivo X500 Pro Max Pricing

In China, the vivo X500 Pro Max goes on sale starting September 24, 2026 with several configuration options.

The price for the 12 GB + 256 GB version starts at 6,999 yuan, while the higher-capacity variant reaches 8,999 yuan for the 1 TB model.

For now, the launch remains focused on China. vivo has indicated that the X500 series will also launch globally, but the schedule and pricing for international markets have not yet been announced.

vivo X500 Pro Max Focuses on Camera Users

The vivo X500 Pro Max points in a very clear direction. Rather than simply chasing the fastest chipset, vivo has dedicated a massive portion of resources to camera and video capabilities.

The combination of a 50 MP main camera, 200 MP telephoto, 4K 240fps video, Dimensity 9600 Pro, 2K display, and 7,800 mAh battery makes it one of the most complete models in the current X Series lineup.

Before choosing the vivo X500 Pro Max, it wouldn't hurt to compare it with the Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro to understand the differences in features and specifications.
