vivo X500 Pro Official, A Compact Flagship with Serious Cameras

Vivo X500 Pro

vivo officially introduced the vivo X500 Pro in China on September 21, 2026. This smartphone arrives as a flagship with a relatively compact size, while still packing top-tier specifications, especially in the camera, performance, and video departments.

Compared to the larger X500 Pro Max, the X500 Pro feels more suitable for users who want a flagship smartphone that isn't too bulky in the hand.

6.36-Inch Display with 144Hz Refresh Rate

The vivo X500 Pro uses a 6.36-inch Zeiss Master Color Display with a resolution of 2,660 x 1,216 pixels.

The panel supports an adaptive 1-144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Its fingerprint sensor also utilizes 3D ultrasonic fingerprint technology under the display.

This size makes the vivo X500 Pro quite appealing because at a time when many flagships are getting larger, vivo is offering an option with a more streamlined body.

Its dimensions are approximately 151.78 x 71.92 x 8.12 mm with a weight of 197 grams. The body also features IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance.

Powered by the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro

For performance, the vivo X500 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro.

This flagship chipset is built using a 2nm fabrication process and serves as one of the key components supporting the camera and video capabilities of the X500 Pro series.

Memory options are available in several configurations:

  • 12 GB RAM + 256 GB
  • 12 GB RAM + 512 GB
  • 12 GB RAM + 1 TB

With these specifications, the X500 Pro is firmly positioned in the flagship class, ranging from daily use, gaming, and multitasking, to high-resolution photo and video processing.

50 MP Sony Lytia L910 Main Camera

Cameras remain one of the core highlights of the vivo X500 Pro.

The smartphone packs a 50 MP Sony Lytia L910 main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size featuring optical image stabilization (OIS).

Its main camera is accompanied by a 64 MP Sony Lytia 610 periscope telephoto camera with an 85mm equivalent focal length. This telephoto camera is also equipped with OIS adhering to the CIPA 7.0 stabilization standard.

For wider-angle shots, a 50 MP ultrawide camera with autofocus is provided.

The rear camera configuration consists of:

  • 50 MP Sony Lytia L910 main camera
  • 64 MP Sony Lytia 610 periscope telephoto camera
  • 50 MP ultrawide camera

On the front, there is a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Admittedly, the Pro version doesn't get the 200 MP periscope telephoto camera found on the X500 Pro Max. However, this 64 MP periscope camera remains one of the standout features of the X500 Pro, especially for portraits and long-distance shooting.

Capable of 4K 240fps Video Recording

Its video capabilities have also received a massive upgrade.

The vivo X500 Pro supports slow motion up to 4K at 240fps. The Dimensity 9600 Pro chip also enables support for 10-bit Log recording and cinematic-style video features.

These features make the X500 Pro not just for photography enthusiasts, but also for users who are serious about creating video content using a smartphone.

vivo also includes the Cinematic Portrait feature, designed to produce portrait videos with a more cinematic look.

6,510 mAh Battery

Even though the body size is quite compact, vivo still managed to pack a 6,510 mAh BlueVolt battery.

The battery supports 90W wired FlashCharge as well as 40W wireless charging.

Its capacity is indeed smaller compared to the X500 Pro Max, but it is still considered massive for a smartphone with a 6.36-inch display.

For connectivity, the X500 Pro supports 5G, Wi-Fi up to 6 GHz, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB-C 3.2.

OriginOS 7 Based on Android 17

The vivo X500 Pro is one of the first devices to run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

Some of the new features introduced include Origin Workbench, Fluid Motion, Seamless Interaction, Snap-Up Engine, and Origin Smooth Engine.

It is worth noting, however, that these software specifications apply to the Chinese version. The global version may feature a different software configuration.

vivo X500 Pro Pricing

In China, the vivo X500 Pro is available in three storage capacities.

Official prices:

  • 12 GB + 256 GB: 6,499 yuan
  • 12 GB + 512 GB: 7,499 yuan
  • 12 GB + 1 TB: 8,499 yuan

Sales in China are scheduled to begin on September 29, 2026.

Color options include Sunny White, Starry Gray, Moonlit Black, and Orange Ocean.

As of now, vivo has not announced the exact global launch schedule or official pricing for the X500 Pro outside of China.

A Compact Flagship That Doesn't Compromise on Cameras

The most fascinating aspect of the vivo X500 Pro lies in its combination of a more compact form factor with flagship specifications.

The 6.36-inch display, Dimensity 9600 Pro, Sony Lytia L910 main camera, 64 MP periscope telephoto, 4K 240fps video, and 6,510 mAh battery ensure that the X500 Pro doesn't feel like a heavily downgraded version just because of its smaller size.

For users who don't need a 200 MP telephoto camera or the large body of the X500 Pro Max, the Pro version serves as a more compact alternative without losing most of the key features of the X500 series.

Besides the vivo X500 Pro, the series also features the vivo X500 as the standard model and the vivo X500 Pro Max for those looking for an even higher-end variant.
